Brandi Berry (Baroque violin), Thomas Aláan (countertenor), Phil Spray (Baroque guitar and violone), and Matthew Dean (tenor) will present a concert of English music--with an Italian twist! Included will be vocal and instrumental movements from 'The Gentle Shepherd,' a pastoral comedy by Allan Ramsay considered to be the first Scottish Opera; the music of 'Henry Purcell;' and drinking songs featured in 'Calliope, or English Harmony.'
