Hope Rose Jirsa
Hope Rose Jirsa was born and raised in Forest Park, IL. One of eight, homeschooled children in a musical family, she has always enjoyed the arts, and dreamed as a little girl of becoming a ballerina. She began singing at age nine and playing percussion; playing piano and guitar at age twelve; and writing music at age thirteen. She recorded her first album, “Too Soon,” in 2013. She is a prolific song writer, and continues to pursue a music career, playing at venues such as Hawthorne’s Backyard (West Chicago) and FitzGerald’s Nightclub (Berwyn). Hope and her family became aware of her Scottish heritage through her brother’s research into their family tree. Now, her older brother plays bagpipes, her younger brother and sister play drums, and she has become a member of the Thistle and Heather Highland Dancers. “I told myself, ‘I’ll try this for a month, if I don’t like, I’ll quite.’ But I had that first lesson, learned that first dance, fell in love with it, and I three years later I’m still dancing my heart out.” Hope is honored to participate in this historical show and talented cast!
